The rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, have signed on Monday two protocols to collaborate in actions of conservation of historical and cultural heritage and in projects of digitalization of the historical documentary heritage of the Region.
The aim is to highlight part of UMU's documentary collections in the Europeana digital heritage database and to restore part of the pictorial heritage through the CARM Restoration Center.
"Thanks to the Ministry, and the technicians of the General Archive and the Restoration Center, we will soon see results that are beneficial for the UMU and for our entire region," said Luján.
Miriam Guardiola said that "it is about cooperating between institutions, with the aim of improving knowledge and conservation of our culture in order to bequeath it, in the best possible way, to the following generations."
