Citizens Councilman Carlos Peñafiel has made a written request to the Hiring Service that includes, immediately, in the tender specifications for the Old Prison project, equal measures and protocols that eliminate the wage gap and that are obligatory fulfillment for the company that finally is the successful bidder, according to the agreement approved unanimously in the Plenary last December.
In this sense, Peñafiel has called the attention of the councilor of Procurement, Eduardo Martínez Oliva, "for not controlling the incorporation of these social clauses in the bidding process of the Old Prison project".
In the opinion of the mayor of the orange training, "this does not help to combat inequality or to advance the application of measures that put an end to discrimination in the working and wage conditions of women."
"From Cs we will continue to monitor that the future specifications incorporate these social clauses in order to achieve greater involvement of the whole society, including companies and public administrations, and correct once and for all the wage gap", he concluded.
