Students of the last course of Law and Criminology of the UMU will practice in the courts of the Region (04/03/2019)

The University of Murcia, the General Council of the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice have signed this morning the agreement by which students of Law and Criminology of the UMU will be able to practice in courts and tribunals of the Region.

Both the dean of the Faculty of Law, David Lorenzo Morillas, and the rector, José Luján, have highlighted the importance that this practical training has for students.

"The practices represent a fundamental piece for the formation of our students, who approach the daily reality of the courts," said Morillas, who has ensured that this practical training in the courts is the most demanded among students , which is an effort to try that no one is left without this experience.

The rector of the UMU, José Luján, has outlined the value of the agreement, since "we put students of Law and Criminology in an area where the right to effective judicial protection is always at stake and there are sensitive documents."

From the CGPJ, Juan Martínez Moya, member of the permanent commission of said body, has had an impact on the disinterested work of the judges when it comes to imparting the practices.

As he has commented, "there is an institutional dimension of collaboration that is necessary and also in the student, given that the courts suppose the scenario of the institutionality in which the student must be reflected and incorporated".

The event was also attended by Miguel Pasqual de Riquelme, president of the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) of Murcia.
