Two European projects will promote gender equality among children of Children and establish new training mechanisms for municipal employees (03/03/2019)

The City Council, through the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, led by Jesús Pacheco, will receive grants from the European Commission to develop the projects 'Colorful Children' and 'Urbact Innovator'.

The first of them, 'Colorful Children- Promote gender equality at preschool education level', aims to develop a learning methodology to promote gender equality aimed at children's education (3-6 years), train teachers of early childhood education in thematic of gender equality to be able to educate the subject to children since childhood, and encourage critical thinking related to gender equality among children.

In addition to Murcia, Torres Vedras (Portugal), Härryda (Sweden), Rávenna (Italy), Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies (CIEG (University of Lisbon, Portugal), Asociación igualdade.pt (Portugal) and the Portuguese Association participate in this project. of teachers of early childhood education.

This project, which will be developed in CEIP schools Luis Costa and Federico de Arce, will run until August 2021 and does not entail any cost for the City Council.

As for the project 'Urbact Innovator: eveyone is an innovator', it consists of six partners, apart from Murcia: Turin (Italy), Oporto (Portugal), Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Veszprém (Hungary), Métropole du Grand Paris , (France) and Rotterdam (Netherlands).

The general objective of the project is to establish an exchange of experiences and good practices of new mechanisms for training and training public employees, with the aim of providing them with new tools and knowledge that encourage innovation in citizen participation processes.

In this framework, Murcia will serve as pilot experience and will collaborate specifically in the following actions:

- Establish the methodology and roadmap for the implementation of Innovator

- Attend the transnational meetings projected in the project

- Creation of the Local Urban Group (Urban Local Group-ULG)

- Realization of a pilot experience in Murcia

- Dissemination and dissemination at local, national and international level

The duration of the project is 12 months and the global budget is 60,360 euros, of which 51,306 will be financed by Feder Funds.
