The artistic avant-garde of Murcia celebrates its conclave in the LAC (02/03/2019)

The Artistic Laboratory of El Carmen (LAC) opens its doors, an innovative art center, aimed at stimulating critical thinking in the world of culture as well as intercultural dialogue.

Its activity, together with the church of El Carmen, will be permanent with continuous exhibitions and the programming of activities that include the visual, theatrical, literary and musical arts.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, and more than thirty artists and cultural collectives from Murcia, inaugurated today the Artistic Laboratory of El Carmen (LAC), an innovative center of art developed within the ADN-Urbano project, in which the different cultural manifestations and the visual arts have a place, aimed at stimulating critical thinking in the world of culture as well as intercultural dialogue.

This new cultural facility located next to the church of El Carmen, on the first floor of the new Museum of La Sangre, has a total of 9 classrooms totaling an area of ​​800 m2, and will permanently host the latest artistic events, through continuous exhibitions and programmed activities.

At the same time, the LAC has been conceived as a platform for the production and exhibition of the visual, theatrical, literary and musical arts with the aim of establishing bridges between the different bonds that are generated in other cultural areas.

A luxury opening

The inauguration featured the art of Sofía Tornero, Ramón Pastor and Petrus Borgia, the sculptures by Fernando Sáenz de Elurrieta, the photography of Teresa Arnal and Marian Calero, the prints by Antonio Vidal Maiquez , the painting by Luz Bañón and Taras Syrotyuk , the collages of Miriam Martínez Abellán, as well as the video art Cultural Gallery by Damián Lajara and the floral art with Cyca.

Also present were the music of Che Swing & Marina, as well as the saxophonist and conductor Víctor Cano, the illustrations by Pedro Cantero, Villiam, Dodeka, Joas, Dres, Kaplan and Sergio Alvarado, dancers of the danzarte association, association of Ukranianos de Murcia and Javi Marcos .

There was also a live demonstration on neuroscience and art by Soma.

Literature also had its space with the Palin Association and the actor Julio Navarro Albero.

In addition, more than 15 watercolourists from the Region -all of them from the Adarm association- painted live.

Vinissimo and Trikornita, both as sponsors of the event, contributed with their products.
