-The municipal training Murcia now urges the government team to expedite the procedures to remove the Francoist names that continue to appear in the municipal official street, as well as to identify and remove, where appropriate, the vestiges of the dictatorship that are still present in neighborhoods and districts

The municipal group NOW MURCIA has managed to be approved in the House held today in the City of Murcia a motion to draft the Catalog of Francoist Vestiges of the municipality, as set out in Article 15 of the Law of Historical Memory.

The municipal training requested that the provisions of the Law of Historical Memory be complied with and, with it, definitively remove the vestiges of the dictatorship that are still present in neighborhoods and districts, as well as in official and electronic documentation of the municipal website.

Now Murcia has won the support of all the groups of the municipal Plenary, Popular Party, PSOE, Citizens, Change Murcia and Councilman Trigueros, for the motion, whose agreements are:

1. To urge the Government Team, through its competent Council, to inform this Corporation of whether the Ministry of Justice has contacted this City Council on the occasion of the application in our municipality of the Law of Historical Memory and What was the answer.

2. To urge the Government Team, through its competent Council, to elaborate a catalog of exaltation vestiges of the Civil War and the dictatorship for its later elimination in the terms contemplated by the Law.

The spokeswoman of Now Murcia, Alicia Morales, has emphasized in the debate that "the own works of the Commission of denomination of Streets have not been able to advance because the PP has not had will for it", with which follows the withdrawal of all the streets whose denominations violate the Law of Historical Memory.

The municipal training also highlights that, even streets that were already approved to be removed in the Street Commission, continue appearing in the municipal web, in breach of the agreements of the full committee and the full City Council, as well as the Law of Historical Memory , in addition to confusing neighbors, visitors and users of the website Murcia.es

Morales pointed out that "the writing of the Catalog of Francoist Vestiges could not be postponed any more, and the City Council must collaborate with the Ministry of Justice by sending such catalog to it as soon as possible."

Finally, from the training it has been stated that we will remain vigilant so that these agreements are complied with and the Law is complied with once, since "it is not a matter of receipt that more than 11 years after the approval of the Law of Historical Memory, continue to be present. in our streets, squares, public spaces and mountains, elements that violate the current legislation and that extol the dictatorship and the Francoist coup ".
