El Castillejo is the only construction of the privately owned Monteagudo complex.
The Plenary of the City of Murcia has today agreed the final approval of the procedure for obtaining Castillejo and Larache Pool, better known as "El Hondón", the only construction of the complex of private property, since the Castle of Monteagudo belongs to the State and that of Larache to the Autonomous Community.
The Plenary session unanimously gave the green light to the file, which affects an area consisting of 10 plots totaling 34,532 square meters and the budget allocated by the City for its acquisition amounts to 1,311,293 euros.
It is a fundamental step in the project of recovery of the archaeological and monumental park of Monteagudo, 'The Fortresses of the King Lobo', the most important of medieval Islam, which includes sites, forts and orchard.
With this achievement, the acquisition by public administrations of all the strengths of the Monteagudo complex is completed, which will allow the value of the existing complex to be valued due to its archaeological, cultural, patrimonial and tourist relevance, making one of the great recovery projects a reality. of the heritage.
