Now Murcia asks for the cataloging and protection of cultural real estate in the PGOU of Murcia (27/02/2019)

-The municipal training will take to the next plenary a motion for the cataloging and protection of cultural property of the municipality that currently do not have any kind of legal protection.

-To do this, it will ask that the PGOU of Murcia be modified to give generic protection as assets cataloged by planning to cultural and historical elements such as water mills and the gutters of irrigation ditches in the orchard, cisterns, civil and military patrimony and the niches.

-Now Murcia denounces that despite the various announcements of councilors of the PP and the Mayor in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, has not completed the inventory of garden and field heritage that hired the City Council and which were said to be completed in 6 months, a project that the Mayor included among the achievements of his first 100 days of government

Now Murcia will take to the next plenary a motion requesting the cataloging and generic protection of cultural real estate in the General Plan of Urban Ordination of Murcia.

As Councilor Ángeles Moreno Micol recalls, "in the municipality of Murcia there is a large amount of historical and cultural heritage that today does not have any kind of legal protection that can guarantee its conservation for the enjoyment of the present and future generations. future because of their historical, artistic, archaeological, paleontological, ethnographic, technical or industrial value or of any other cultural nature ".

As Murcia now has been insisting since it came to the Corporation, a large part of these heritage elements of our municipality are in a very poor state of conservation or are in serious danger of disappearing, and it is the obligation of public authorities to guarantee their knowledge and conservation, according to the law.

Therefore, the motion calls for a modification of the PGOU for generic protection as assets cataloged by the planning of these elements, which include all the water mills, the gutters of the ditches of the garden prior to 1950, the reservoirs prior to 1940, the historical and civil and military archaeological heritage of the Civil War, such as anti-aircraft shelters, trenches or bunkers, and the niches prior to 1940.

"These are elements," says Micol, "which constitute our identity as a people and allow us to know our history, customs and way of life and, therefore, we must value it, for which it is essential to recognize and conserve it"

Delays and non-compliances since 2015 for the inventory contract announced by Mayor Ballesta

Now Murcia denounces that despite the repeated announcements of the government team, including the words of Mayor Ballesta himself that can be checked in the newspaper archives, the City Council has not been able to complete a contract that was supposed to be developed in just 6 months

The municipal training recalls that it was announced an inventory contract for the countryside and the Huerta de Murcia, already in 2015, to carry out an inventory that maps all the heritage elements, but has not been completed.

Even Mayor Ballesta included this inventory among the achievements of his first 100 days of government, "100 days, 100 initiatives", although years later it still has not materialized.

From Now Murcia says that "it is not acceptable that a contract of this kind, small and simple, has been delayed until almost 4 years, when it has been repeated again and again in 6 months was going to complete and submit" .

The municipal training has collected the information from Hiring of the own Town Hall verifying so that they will still have to pass several months so that this contract can be completed and have the final documentation of the same.

Finally, the training has indicated that "this is one more example of the policy with the cultural heritage of this government team, they announce again and again the same measures that never take place, neither the heritage inventory nor the restoration of the mills, nor the recovery of the Contraparada ", remembering that" Ballesta is the mayor of graphic design and colored lights, while Murcia's heritage continues to fall before its inaction.
