PSOE, Citizens, Now Murcia, Change Murcia and the councilor not assigned Francisco Javier Trigueros will take to the plenary tomorrow a motion for the implementation of the Municipal Council of Social and Solidarity Economy as a collegial body for monitoring and advice on promotion and promotion of the development and promotion policies of the social and solidarity economy in the municipality.

The motion, promoted by the Alternative and Solidarity Economy Network (REAS), also proposes the launching of training activities and awareness of responsible procurement and purchase directed to social and economic agents of Murcia, and final approval for inclusion of social and environmental clauses in the contracts signed by the City Council in relation to the management of municipal services.

The municipal groups of the opposition have considered that it is necessary to promote the social and solidarity economy as an alternative model through various initiatives that affect the entire economic cycle, from the creation of goods, production, cooperativism, marketing or consumption up to the finances and the distribution of surpluses.

These are activities that "connect with a type of local development defined as a territorial intervention strategy to generate local capacity and increase the conditions and opportunities for citizens, promoting human development from the principles of equal opportunities, sustainability, participation and empowerment, "they explain in the motion.

PSOE, Citizens, Now Murcia and Cambiemos Murcia have defended the need for the City of Murcia to contribute in this regard in order to influence the transformation of the economic activity of the municipality from the base of the social and solidarity economy, environmental sustainability and the circular economy, among other aspects.

The initiative also proposes the promotion of a program of promotion and dissemination of this type of economy through actions in educational centers, vocational training and employment, and neighborhood associations, as well as an entrepreneurship program of solidarity economy and social innovation directed to companies, initiatives and people interested in self-employment.
