The Circus and Romea theaters will host from Thursday, Thursday and until March 29, the new Jazz and Black cycle.
This initiative will start with the famous American musician, composer, producer and arranger Booker T Jones, known to be one of the creators of the soul sound of Memphis of the 60s and a living legend of the Hammond organ.
The youngest will be able to share a taste for Jazz music with their family on March 3 with Black Music, where the proximity between musicians and families creates a unique experience, where you can breathe the feeling that there is only one heart beating, a unique symphony orchestra, a shared dream for all attendees.
The program continues on March 7 with Shayna Steel Grammy nominee, vocalist and songwriter known for his collaborations with Moby, present in film soundtracks such as Hairspray, The Bourne Legacy, Sex and the City 2 of 2012, Smash of NBC, 2008 Summer Olympics on the BBC, The Shanghai Restoration Project and "The Sopranos" on HBO.
He has worked as a sideman with Lizz Wright, Bette Midler, John Legend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson.
The band Mamas Gun masters of modern soul music, which have earned praise from Spanish and British media such as The Sunday Times, Billboard, The Guardian and Uncut Magazine, will be hosted by Fernando Rubio, Murcian musician of great career in Rock and soul of the Regional scene.
The piano will be the protagonist of an unforgettable night on March 14, in the hands of Gonzalo Rubalcaba (Cuba) + Stefano Bollani (Italy) two great players of the jazz piano scene.
This cycle ends at the Teatro Romea on March 29 with Las bodas de Fígaro (jazz version), by Paco Mir (Tricicle).
A jazz version of Mozart's work in which the singers interpret their arias in the traditional way but the accompaniment is carried out by a jazz trio that, while preserving the original tempos, reinvents the score with some arrangements as unusual as they are dazzling.
