-It will also request a plan for the withdrawal of this prohibited and dangerous construction material that includes a specific timetable and deadlines.

Now Murcia will take to the next plenary session a motion for the City Council to carry out an inventory of municipal buildings and facilities in which asbestos has been detected, as a preliminary step for the preparation of a plan to remove this dangerous and forbidden element, including a calendar concrete and deadlines.

From now Murcia has been warned on many occasions that the existence of asbestos in public schools, municipal agencies and illegal dumps is a major public health problem that the government team should take seriously.

As spokeswoman Alicia Morales recalls, "Now Murcia presented a motion in November 2015 to put this issue on the table and seek solutions." In that motion, which was agreed and supported by all the groups, it was approved that the City would make a municipal campaign against asbestos to warn the population of the risks of their handling, that this campaign would include the removal of this material from landfills scattered by our municipality by the different competent administrations, and that the City of Murcia, together with the Autonomous Community, would collaborate with the aim of proceeding to the removal of the roofs with asbestos that the schools of the municipality have to replace them with roofs made with sustainable materials and not harmful to health ".

In addition many times in these years, Now Murcia has denounced and brought to the attention of the municipal authorities the existence of illegal dumps with fiber cement plates distributed in different parts of our districts and our garden, and has insistently asked the Department of Promotion to launch campaigns for the controlled withdrawal of these hazardous materials.

Recently, it has also been known that the dependencies of the FICA in which the workers of the Social Welfare Service are have asbestos covers with breaks and leaks, and their concerns and demands have been made public so that they become effective the transfer that they have been promising since ten years ago they placed them provisionally in this place.

However, Morales considers, "until now nothing has been done and Mr. Ballesta has the duty to guarantee that this dangerous material is outside our municipality, carrying out the actions that are within his competence and demanding that the Autonomous Community do his work".
