The PSOE accuses the PP of "increasing the inequalities between the north and the south in its 24 years of government, including the 4 of Ballesta" (21/02/2019)

The spokesperson of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia, Susana Hernandez, regrets that the Connection South project "is too late for more than 50,000 people who have suffered for decades the mismanagement of the Popular Party politicians who have turned their backs on them"

The announcement made by the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, that 35 million euros will be invested in building roads, boulevards and gardens in the southern neighborhoods -El Carmen, San Pío X, Barriomar, Santiago el Mayor, El Progreso, El Infante and also the district of Patiño- arrives "very late" for the more than 50,000 people who "have been suffering for decades from the mismanagement of the Popular Party that governs the municipality and has turned its back on them".

This is stated by the spokesperson of the Municipal Socialist Group, Susana Hernández, when referring to the project that has been named Connection South and that the government team has exposed to neighborhood and social groups of this extensive and populated part of the city.

"They are 24 years that has governed the Popular Party in the City and throughout this period rather than eliminate the existing inequalities between those who live in the north and those who do in the south of Murcia which has led to increase differences even in relation to planned urban plans by this party, "says Hernandez, who details in the four years that is on track to meet Ballesta as mayor.

"In that period, he has not done anything to reduce these inequalities, showing a great incapacity that condemns the neighbors of the south and now, before the elections, he intends to spend everything he has not invested to date," he says.

"Ballesta opts for virtual presentations and power points, but the reality is what it is, what neighbors and neighbors support, beyond a beautiful video or a compilation of models and suggestive photos," he adds.

The Socialist spokesperson also complains that from the Autonomous Community the line to follow is in line with the one that marks Ballesta in the Consistory.

"If it had been for the PP the AVE would have arrived in Murcia by the southern surface area dividing the municipality for years" and recalls that the general director of Transport, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, has declared that "the Popular Party would focus all its efforts to recover the AVE on the surface if it wins the general elections without taking into account the damages generated to the neighbors of the area. "

"This shows that for Ballesta and for the PP citizen participation is nothing more than an optical illusion for the photo in which Murcia and Murcia believe they think, but the reality is that they are not heard," concludes Hernandez.
