The University of Murcia celebrates on days 19, 20 and 21 a few days of open doors in the faculty of Biology directed, especially, to students of 4th of ESO and of Bachillerato.
With them, it aims to promote interest in science and scientific vocations among future university students.
The days, which are part of the XXXII Biology Week of the UMU, will host more than 450 schoolchildren from eighteen centers in the Region.
Among the activities that include, in addition to knowing the faculty of Biology, the students will make guided visits to exhibitions, to the aquarium of the faculty, to the José Loustau museum or to the Soil Museum Roque Ortiz.
In addition, scientific activities will be carried out on minerals and rocks, on zebrafish or land snails, among others.
The XXXII Biology Week also aims to disseminate science among the university community and to inform students about professional opportunities and ways of working future in the field of Biology.
Until Friday, February 22, the faculty will host, among other activities, lectures given by experts in Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences, on different aspects of teaching and research.
Specifically, this Tuesday, February 19, will take place the conference 'Marine aquaculture: fattening of sea bream, sea bass and corvina' by José Luis Sáez Martínez, from Piscifactorías de Mediterránea.
The talk will be in the classroom 0.6 of the Faculty of Biology, at 13 hours.
