The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilman of Pedanías, Participation and Decentralization, Marco Antonio Fernández, and the mayor of Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, will visit this afternoon, at 20.00, the new Multipurpose Pavilion of Jerónimo and Avileses , which opens its doors as a sports center, cultural center and neighborhood meeting point of the parish of about 2,000 m2.
This multipurpose space, which has involved a municipal investment of 459,800 euros, has facilities that allow it to be used both as an auditorium and for the celebration of social events and sports space, which today has been premiered by the players of the first national division Jimbee female indoor soccer, as well as the Jimbee children's team.
The building will host administrative, cultural and sports uses, so it is conceived as a multipurpose space, which is adapted to the different needs of the neighborhood groups of this district that has a population of 1,126 people.
With nearly 2,000m2 of built area, this pavilion, located on a plot of 12,300 m2, also has a patio area on the back, accessible directly from the multipurpose space, where you can locate sports courts.
It is also expected that the use of the center itself will be compatible with the uses to be made by the students of the Public School of Avileses, so that direct access between both facilities has been projected to facilitate their joint operation.
The administrative area, located at a higher level, has offices for the Municipal Board and an assembly hall / training room.
It consists of three offices and the hall, divisible if necessary in two classrooms through an intermediate mobile partition.
The multipurpose space, in a lower location, has a sufficient surface and height to be used for different uses, both cultural and sports, and for a maximum capacity of about 300 spectators.
Within this volume there is a service area, with toilets, storage room and changing rooms / dressing rooms, forming a grandstand.
