Martínez-Oliva: 'To say that the AVE will reach the city next year is to take the hair of Murcia' (12/02/2019)

'The closing of the crossing at the level of Santiago el Mayor was announced first for January, then it passed to February, then to March and today it goes through April'

'To say that the AVE will be in Murcia in 2020 is to want to take our hair to all Murcia', said the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, after the meeting of the social monitoring committee the burial works, which was also attended by the Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez.

"The truth is that the AVE in the city of Murcia most likely will not reach us in three years," laments Martínez-Oliva, because "Murcia does not deserve it."

Martínez-Oliva recalls that in order for the AVE to arrive in Murcia it is necessary to contract the works of the two sections of the Carmen station and the Barriomar-Nonduermas area -which were tendered in August 2018- but to date they have not yet been awarded , although the government delegate informed the Prosoterramiento Platform on December 24 that the contract would be 'imminent, in the coming days'.

Almost two months after that date, 'today we found out in the social committee that the reports of State Advocacy and the Ministry of Finance, which are essential, still do not exist'.

To this delay is added that it will also be mandatory to approve the addendum to the protocol of 2006 and, previously, both the City Council and the Government must adopt these agreements by their respective governing bodies, following the legal and intervention reports.

'This administrative procedure, in no way, could be carried out in a period of less than two or three months and then, the works should be started', stresses the popular councilor, who confirms that 'all the members of the commission have taken the same surprise '

Regarding the commissioning of the pedestrian walkway of Santiago el Mayor, Martínez-Oliva expresses its' reasonable doubts' about it occurring on April 11 as indicated in the meeting, since 'it was first announced that it would be January, later it became February, later it was March and today it goes through April '.

With this chronology, the councilman fears that it is an attempt to 'delay this moment after the municipal elections'

The 'understanding without limit' of the PSOE

On the other hand, the City Council has informed the social committee that the mobility plan has been executed for months and awaiting its start-up when the pass at the level of Santiago El Mayor is closed.

Eduardo Martínez-Oliva has expressed surprise at the attitude and behavior of the PSOE, which has gone from 'a total confrontation with the project of burial when the Popular Party was at the head of the central administration to the capacity of understanding and understanding that they show today before the breaches of the established terms'.
