The University of Murcia launches online radio to inform about university news (12/02/2019)

The University of Murcia has presented on Tuesday its new project 'Radio um.es', an online radio based on podcast that will group its contents in different sections such as university news, culture, languages, sports, mind care, sustainable development goals , etc.

The contents of 'Radio um.es' will be produced mainly by students and faculty of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, although there will also be room in it for different university services and the rest of the faculties.

The person in charge of the project, Mª Teresa Pellicer, coordinator of Audiovisual Media of the UMU, has explained that daily new podcast will be uploaded to the university news channel and, a couple of times a week, the specific contents of the rest of the channels will be expanded.

In addition, on Friday a university newsletter will be issued.

Access to the platform can be done through the website www.um.es/web/podcast/ or through the iVoox platform on this link.

Francisco Javier Martínez, Vice Chancellor of Quality, Culture and Communication, stressed that the University "has to inform both the people who are part of it and external users."

In addition, "this project serves to demonstrate the ability of our students to do this work," he said.

Finally, Pedro Hellín, dean of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, has claimed the role of this center as a driving force capable of doing many things in the UMU as well as training its students.

"It's about integrating the faculty as support in tasks of communication of the rest of faculties, centers and services" has concluded.
