The best magicians and illusionists in the world will fill Murcia with 'Great Illusions' from February 28 to March 2 (12/02/2019)

100% of the proceeds of this solidary festival will be allocated to the Assido project for 190 children with Down syndrome, who will receive early care at home and participate in workshops.

The X anniversary will bring to Murcia artists of the likes of Anthony Blake, Reynold Alexander, Dani DaOrtiz, Miguel Ángel Gea or Dima and will feature Carlos Sobera as guest presenter.

The mayor of the city, José Ballesta;

accompanied by the director of the Gmp Foundation, Francisco Fernández;

the artistic director of the festival, Javi Martín;

and the President of Assido Murcia, Juan Carlos Sánchez;

have presented today the International Festival of Solidarity Magic of Murcia 'Great Illusions'.

The event, which featured a magic exhibition by the illusionist Jammes Garibo, was attended by Councilors Jesús Pacheco and Conchita Ruiz, and the General Director of People with Disabilities, Ana Guijarro.

Great Illusions 2019 will take place on February 28, March 1 and 2, three days in which Murcia will again be filled with magic with the best magicians of the national and international scene, among which are Anthony Blake, Reynold Alexander (Puerto Rico), Dani DaOrtiz, Miguel Ángel Gea or Dima (Russia).

"Illusion, dedication, love and generosity are the four pillars of this solidarity festival that in these nine years of life has already helped more than 500 Murcia families and, to celebrate its tenth anniversary, has prepared the most international poster of its history , with first class shows at the Circus and Romea theaters, and at street level, in the Plaza de Santo Domingo ", said the mayor, who thanked the" exemplary work of the Gmp Foundation and its commitment to Murcia ".

The 10th anniversary of Grandes Illusions will allocate 100% of its proceeds to children with intellectual disabilities from the Assido organization in Murcia.

The project 'Towards the transformation of services' will carry out therapies of early attention in homes for children from 0 to 6 years old, and, in the school stage, will influence the work in workshops outside the school hours to improve the social aspects and autonomy of children.

It will benefit a total of 190 users with Down syndrome and / intellectual disability, with ages between 0 to 16 years.

Being the 10th anniversary of the Festival, some of the most significant magicians of the national and international magic scene that have visited Murcia in previous editions will return.

Among them, highlights the presence of Anthony Blake, Dani Dartiz, Miguel Angel Gea, Reynold Alexander (Puerto Rico), Garibo or the presenter Carlos Sobera as a guest artist.

This edition, there will also be street magic on days 28, 1 and 2, specifically, in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, with Mago Rafa, Héctor Sansegundo and Galaserman.

The First International Gala has been organized for the opening of the festival, which will take place at the Teatro Circo on March 1, at 9:00 p.m., a show that will be presented by Carlos Sobera and with the participation of Jammes Garibo, Los Taps, Diego and Elena, Hugo Miró, Reynold Alexander (Puerto Rico) and Charlie Mag.

On March 2, the Family Gala will take place at 12.00 in the Teatro Circo.

It will be presented by Pepín Banzo and will be attended by Dima (Russia), Pepín Banzo, Kayto, Hansel, Gilly (Italy), Los Taps and Hugo Miró.

In addition, this year there will be a double magic session 'close up', one held in the small room of the Teatro Circo on March 2, at 5:00 pm, and another in the big room, the same day, at 19: 00h.

The finale of the festival will arrive with the Closing Gala starring Anthony Blake with his show 'Pensamientos Confidenciales'.

It will be on March 2 on Saturday, March 2 at the Romea Theater.

More than 360,000 euros and about 600 families benefited

In these nine years of life 'Great Illusions' has managed to raise more than 360,000 euros that have helped about 600 families with some member with intellectual disabilities in the Region of Murcia, contributing to materialize projects promoted by Murcia entities New Horizon, ASSIDO , Feaps, Astrapace, Fundown, CEOM, Abamur, Asteamur and, in the 2018 edition, Fundown.
