The permanent headquarters of the University of Murcia in Cieza celebrates next week a conference of scientific dissemination in the municipality.

Between February 11 and 16, activities and events will be carried out with the aim of awakening interest in science, especially among the youngest, and bringing the whole population together with scientific procedures and procedures through a fun and accessible language. everyone.

To achieve this, conferences, demonstrations, shows, film sessions and an activity fair will be held.

The program will start on Monday with two informative talks.

The coordinator of the Unit of Scientific Culture of the UMU, José Manuel López Nicolás, will offer a talk entitled 'Do we cheat in the supermarket?';

It will be at 7:00 p.m. in the San Sebastián café.

For his part, Pedro A. Serena, institutional delegate of the CSIC, will dedicate his lecture to talk about 'Nanotechnology: the industrial revolution in the 21st century';

the appointment will be at eight o'clock in the afternoon at the municipal music school.

On Wednesday, February 13, the duck watering hole will host a literary forum around the book 'Vamos a comprar lies' by Professor López Nicolás at 7:00 p.m.

The cinema will be the protagonist the next day with the screening of the film 'Requiem for a Dream', which will be commented by María Falcón, professor of the area of ​​legal medicine at the UMU.

The Municipal Library will host the screening at six in the afternoon.

The day 16 will revolve around the scientific fair, which will be installed in the Plaza de España from ten in the morning and until seven in the afternoon.

Throughout the day there will be exhibitors from different faculties of the University of Murcia will make demonstrations and teach their work to those who come.

Among the highlighted activities will take place the talk show 'Recreational Physics', by Professor Rafael García Molina and the conference of CSIC researcher Manuel Pino entitled 'Mechanical Technology'.
