Social Rights will contribute 235,000 euros to finance projects of the associations of the Third Sector (08/02/2019)

The Governing Board has approved the public call for grants to launch in 2019 programs aimed at people with disabilities, in situations or at risk of social exclusion, families, seniors, women, children and adolescents or gender violence.

Last year, 69 entities benefited, 10 more than in 2017

The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, led by Conchita Ruiz, will allocate 235,000 euros for the competitive competitive bidding process to finance various action programs in the field of Social Services and Social Welfare.

Proposals must be submitted within one month of publication in the Borm.

This is what the Governing Board has determined today, responding to the commitment to promote actions and projects that work with the most vulnerable sectors of society.

The actions must aim to carry out projects or intervention activities in the following population sectors:

- Family.

- Greater

- People with disabilities

- Childhood and adolescence

- Gender equality

- Immigrant population

- Gypsy community

- Associative movement and volunteering

- Other groups at risk of social exclusion or situation

In addition, any other sector of the population that falls within the scope of the Council of Social Rights and Development Cooperation may have the opportunity to present their projects and opt for this financial aid.

But also, and beyond the indicated actions, the entities participating in the call may request that a percentage of the subsidy be allocated to the maintenance of the entity itself for the development of its activity.

Subsidies may be requested by non-profit entities that collect in their statutory purposes the performance of activities directed to any of the groups that are the subject of the call and meet the other requirements and conditions included.

The projects submitted must be co-financed with own resources and / or from other organizations or institutions.

69 projects in 2018

Last year's call benefited 69 social entities, which launched many other projects with the collaboration of the City Council.

Of these, almost half, specifically 35, addressed proposals aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, 6 children and adolescents, 6 women, 6 groups at risk of social exclusion, 5 elderly, 5 for the family sphere, 3 for the voluntary and associative movement, 2 for the immigrant population and 1 for actions to combat gender violence.

Thus, the Attention Deficit Assistance Association developed a plan with minors and adults;

AFAPADE organized a pottery and painting workshop for people with autism;

and Adaer a family respite program in the area of ​​kidney disease.

The municipal subsidy also contributed to the development of projects for oncological patients, people in processes of treatment of anorexia nervosa and bulimia or those affected by pathological gambling.

Programs for children and adolescents, women, and groups at risk or situation of social exclusion counted last year with the help of this call, which were allocated, among other proposals, school support plans, school for parents and help for children with social difficulty, street intervention for families without resources, promotion of the association of women who perform unpaid domestic tasks, socio-community intervention with families at risk or socioeconomic exclusion or collective housing for people in emergency situation, among other projects
