The City Council designs a specific security plan for Carnival 2019 and Holi Life (04/02/2019)

The Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sanchez, chaired this morning the Local Safety Board which has been attended by representatives of Local Police, Fire, Civil Protection, Civil Guard and National Police and whose objective has been to study the special device of security of the Holi Life, to guarantee the normal development of the competition and the urban mobility of the rest of the users of the tracks, and of the carnivals of Cabezo de Torres, Llano de Brujas and Beniaján, as these are the ones with the highest concentration of people.

The main novelty of the Holi Life, which is celebrated on February 23 in Cabezo de Torres, is to be held on Saturday afternoon, instead of Sunday morning as in previous editions.

This will force to adapt the special device of the event that, according to the forecasts, will attract more than 15,000 runners.

This Local Safety Board has programmed, together with the organizers of the race, a perfectly coordinated device between the different Security Bodies.

Thus, more than a hundred troops will intervene between local police officers, firemen, Civil Protection volunteers, Red Cross, National Police and Civil Guard.

Likewise, the needs of the main carnival districts where nearly 200 local police officers and 150 Civil Protection volunteers will serve, and in the parades of Cabezo de Torres, Llano de Brujas and Beniaján, have been studied.
