Murcia takes a step forward in the "most ambitious digital urban transformation in Spain" (04/02/2019)

From 2016 until today, almost 80% of the planned investment for Smart City actions in the municipality has been tendered.

José Ballesta meets in Madrid with the CEO of Red.es, David Cierco, to finalize the signing of the contract for the award of the 'MiMurcia' project.

The brain works of the city, the Single Follow-up Center (CEUS), will begin in the coming weeks.

They will affect an area of ​​330 m2 and will be located on the ground floor of the Abenarabi building.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, met today in Madrid with the CEO of Red.es, David Cierco, to advance the digital transformation activities that will begin to develop in the coming weeks in Murcia, after the award by part of the state agency of the MiMurcia smart city project and the imminent signing of the contract.

Since 2016 - when the Murcia City Council was selected in the call for aid for the Digital Agenda for Spain, in competitive competition against 111 cities - to date, a total of 78% of the planned investment has been tendered for Smart City actions, which reach 11.3 million euros financed by the state and local administrations.

The last and most important project to be awarded has been 'MiMurcia', "the most ambitious digital urban transformation in Spain" -valued the mayor-, in a national call to which a total of nine Temporary Unions integrated by leading companies from national and international, specialized in technological development and innovation, and whose best economic and technical proposal has been made by the UTE Telefónica and IECISA.

"Murcia is going to become an avant-garde environment in the national environment, in which the latest technologies applied to the field of urban management and the daily needs of the residents of the municipality in areas such as connectivity in public spaces, traffic management will be developed. , interconnection of public transport, sustainability, promotion of local commerce, etc. ", informed the mayor after his meeting in Madrid.

More than 300 indicators and intelligent systems will be distributed throughout Murcia and will allow to know what is the status of the parkings and parking meters of the city, the level of real-time pollution of the different zones, the noise levels or the traffic situation for avoid traffic jams;

At the same time services will be offered to improve the daily life of Murcia, as WiFi network in squares, parks and gardens or systems with bluetooth beacons that report directly on the mobile offers of local businesses.

Adjudicated the works of the CEUS in Abenarabí

Another of the projects that has already been awarded (specifically, at the Hiring Table on January 29), is the adaptation work of the Single Monitoring Center (CEUS) on the ground floor of the Abenarabi Avenue municipal building, for an amount of 241,000 euros.

The contract will be signed in the coming weeks and the term of execution of the works, which will affect an area of ​​330 m2, is four months.

CEUS will be established as a differentiating and innovative element of the Smart Murcia project, it will be the nerve center of the beat of the smart city, control room and management of dashboards, attention and demonstration center for citizens and crisis room.

The City Council has also tendered the supply of the Visualization, recording, management and video analytics system in municipal offices, for an amount of 1,078,000 million euros;

as well as the project of installation of video surveillance in the neighborhood of Carmen, for 113,000 euros;

and the virtual assistant chatbot and artificial intelligence for 17,000 euros.

Tender in proceedings

In parallel, the City Council and Red.es are processing the tender for communication and connectivity of the 'MiMurcia' project for 591,000 euros.

In addition, the Consistory works on the reconfiguration project of the municipal optical fiber network, with an estimated budget of half a million euros;

the deployment of the LoRa network (long-distance wireless technology) by 118,000 and the expansion and modernization of the municipal communications network.
