The mooc course of the University of Murcia entitled 'Effective and healthy strengthening of the abdominal and lumbar muscles' has been chosen as one of the ten best courses of Educational Innovation of the Miríadax platform, the most important of massive open courses in Spanish.
The professor of the Faculty of Education Pedro López Miñarro, responsible for the design of the materials and the development of the course, received the prize in an act held in Madrid.
Mooc courses are courses that universities around the world offer free and online to the public, without the need for prerequisites.
Through videos and materials that are distributed on the platform, registered people are advancing their knowledge.
The course of Professor López Miñarro has stood out for the innovation of its materials and its educational proposal.
Its selection among the ten best training programs of this modality in open is due to the votes of the users of courses and other university teachers.
Nearly ninety training programs from eight different countries were presented to the contest.
As López Miñarro explains, "this is a course that is focused on professionals in its most theoretical content, but that has videos and practical materials that can help a lot to anyone who is doing a training on their own, although it is not about A professional".
In the two editions that it takes, this course of the University of Murcia has had more than seven thousand registered.
The University of Murcia is currently developing around twenty mooc courses in very different areas of knowledge;
from nutrition to astronomy, through law or mathematics.
Of the last positions in the catalog, those that have had a greater number of users have been;
in addition to the award-winning course, 'The Watches of your life' by Marta Garaulet, with 4967 registered;
and 'Unravel the firmament Introduction to Astronomy' by Javier Bussons, with 3627 users.
