"MusIntegrACCIÓN" (04/02/2019)

Four music conservatories and three secondary schools in Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal have formed a strategic partnership to develop the project

The Conservatory of Music of Murcia coordinates an international project, together with conservatories and secondary schools in Germany, Italy and Portugal, focused on the value of European cultural heritage as well as curricular and methodological innovation in music education.

In the project, co-funded by the Erasmus + program of the European Union, and called 'MusIntegrACTION: Transforming musical educational institutions to guarantee their role as transmitters of European cultural heritage', the Conservatory of Music of Murcia (coordinating center of the project), the Institute of Secondary Education "El Carmen" of Murcia, the Music Conservatory 'FA Bonporti' and the Istituto di Istruzioni delle Arti 'Vittoria, Bonporti, Depero' of Trento (Italy), the Music School of the National Conservatory of Lisbon (Portugal) ), and the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt and Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere in Weimar (Germany).

The constitution of this strategic partnership began to respond to one of the objectives included in the management project of the current management team of the Music Conservatory of Murcia.

In this project the guideline was established to promote the methodological and didactic renovation of the center, to turn it into an example of innovation.

Likewise, said management project pointed out the need to establish channels of contact with other European conservatories, especially seeking to know different curricular integration models of music education within general education.

These models of curricular integration seek to help students to combine the general education with the music lessons taught by the conservatories so that students have more time for study, which results in a better academic performance in both teachings.

The Music Conservatory of Murcia and the IES El Carmen have been developing an initiative in this regard since 2012-2013, called "Integrated Timetable Program (IHP)", which has proved very successful and is being adopted by other centers. at the regional level as well as at the national level.

The project began in September of last year 2018, which was chosen by the European Parliament and the European Council as the 'European Year of Cultural Heritage', with the aim of "promoting the exchange and appreciation of Europe's cultural heritage as shared resource, raising awareness about history and common values and reinforcing a sense of belonging to a common European space ".

MUTUAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

We must highlight the excellent learning opportunity that is provided thanks to the strengths of each of the participating partners in certain specific plots.

Thus, the Conservatory of Music of Murcia stands out, for example, in its commitment to didactic innovation;

the IES El Carmen for its efficient way of attending to diversity and its arts program;

the Conservatory of Music of Trento for its pedagogical activity and for its long experience in management of Erasmus projects;

the Institute of Secondary Education and Music of Trento for its commitment to new technologies and its system of work practices;

the Lisbon Conservatory for its orchestral initiatives that seek the inclusion of disadvantaged population;

the Musikhochschule of Weimar for his chair of 'Intercultural Studies';

and the Weimar Musikgymnasium for its commitment to musical excellence among its students.

The development of this project, which will directly involve in mobility actions approximately 80 teachers and 70 students, will have a much greater indirect impact in the context of the participating centers.

It is, therefore, a wide-ranging project, which among its achievements will have results such as the creation of audiovisual material related to European cultural heritage, the holding of temporary exhibitions, the publication of documents derived from the work carried out in the meetings, as well as the realization of proposals of modification of the curriculum destined to the educative authorities.

Likewise, the project pursues the development of students with special emphasis on cultural awareness and expressions through the work of European cultural heritage elements, the adoption of methodological innovations by teachers, the development of specific competencies for the exercise of directive function, the introduction of changes in the institutional culture of the centers, as well as the improvement of the linguistic competence of both teachers and students.

The first meeting of the project, of an organizational nature, took place from 5 to 7 November in Trento (Italy).

From January 15 to 18, on the other hand, the first faculty meeting was held in the German city of Weimar, with the title 'Different solutions for the same need: curricular integration models'.

In addition, until the end of this 2018-2019 academic year a new teachers' meeting will be held in Lisbon, in March, and two student meetings will be held in Trento and Murcia in February and May 2019, respectively. .

Finally, the project will be extended during the 2019-2020 academic year with new international meetings for both teachers and students.
