More than 650,000 people visit the exhibitions organized by the City Council in the last three years (03/02/2019)

Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, explained that "these data are very positive because they represent an increase of 35.61% of visitors compared to 2015 and are a result of our interest in promoting culture".

In these 257 exhibitions of all the artistic manifestations, works of different styles have been shown, some of local artists and others of artists of international recognition as the exhibition 'Destacados' that showed works of Picasso, Tápies or Chillida,' Luster and decorum of these reynos' organized by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Santa María de la Arrixaca or the recently inaugurated exhibition of Floridablanca, one of the cultural events of 2019 where works by Goya are exhibited, among others.

It should be noted that in this period "the City of Murcia has worked on the creation and reform of seven new exhibition spaces: the Caballerizas room, two exhibition halls in the City Hall (one on the ground floor and another called 'Hall of Corregidores' '), the Santa Quiteria Palace which represents a constant art exhibition at street level, the Artillery Barracks whose pavilions 1 and 2 are in an advanced state of rehabilitation as well as the new center, called LAC, in the neighborhood of the Carmen as well as the Museum of the Blood, that thanks to the effort of the Archicofradía of the Coloraos, has become a new referring space for the sample of sacred art ", has indicated Pacheco.

These new spaces for culture are added to the Museum of the City, Museum of Science, Los Molinos del Río, Ramón Gaya Museum, Almudí Palace, Puertas de Castilla and the Casa del Belén.

"A true network of museums, exhibition halls and spaces dedicated to art, to which adding the spaces managed by the Autonomous Community, make the municipality of Murcia a place in favor of culture," the councilor concluded.
