The University of Murcia inaugurates on Thursday the exhibition 'Touch everything and leave everything' by Carlos Vidal, which will take place in the José Nicolás Almansa room of the University Museum, at 8:00 p.m.
In Carlos Vidal's paintings recurrent incomplete words and unfinished phrases appear, but it is not their meaning that determines their function within the painting, but rather the importance of their plastic values.
The words, sometimes the sentences, and other letters, have not been painted to be read, but to be appreciated and seen in what they have of sign, in their formal corporeality.
Images that are always fragmentary and seemingly unconnected appear as vestiges of different stories that refer to both graffiti and popular painting, and sometimes also to cartoons and comic strips of caricature.
The sample can be visited until February 22 from Monday to Friday from 11 to 14 and from 18 to 20:30.
