Change Murcia denounces the collaboration of the City Council in an act of swearing flag with sexist advice (30/01/2019)

Murcia change has reported today that the City has sent all emails of municipal officials a document that advises women to attend the swearing of flag organized by the City and the General Air Academy (AGA) on February 10 wear "short suit" and do not use carmine to avoid staining the flag, which has been labeled as "sexist".

For Sergio Ramos, councilor of municipal training, these recommendations "have no reason to be in the XXI century", when "what is expected of public institutions is to promote actions based on the principle of equality" and, in this sense , "the City Council should focus on other priorities."

Ramos also said that the emails of officials are of an employment nature, ie, that an invitation to an act such as the swearing in of the flag exceeds that area and, therefore, "should not be done" .

He also criticized that in the documentation sent for the swearing of flag it is mentioned that "it is understood that [the person] has access to the dissemination of the images obtained during the act on the website of the City Council" but the form does not refer to to the protection of the use of these photographs in institutional social networks.
