The mayor Carlos Peñafiel will defend this initiative in the plenary session on Thursday, with the purpose of locating, signaling and sealing with total security the open wells and cisterns to avoid any risk that we can regret
The mayor of Citizens Carlos Peñafiel defend in the plenary of Thursday morning a motion asking the Governing Board to take the necessary measures to locate, signal and securely seal the wells and cisterns located in the municipality of Murcia and thus avoid any risk.
Peñafiel has highlighted the need to locate wells, reservoirs or similar elements that "may offer danger, adopting the necessary measures for immediate signaling and sealing and thus be able to offer a total guarantee of safety".
In this sense, the councilor of the orange formation has insisted that "unsealed wells pose a huge danger to people, on the one hand;
but also for animals and the environment. "
"And detecting these wells," he underlined, "is not easy because they hide, they camouflage and many of them are barely 30 centimeters in diameter."
For this reason, Peñafiel wants to "implant a comfortable and easy system so that hikers can quickly denounce the existence of these dangerous wells and notify the competent authorities for immediate sealing".
Likewise, the mayor of Cs will demand that "measures be taken for the inspection of septic tanks and blind wells in the Huerta area to verify that their installation is correct and they are out of danger".
