The PSOE asks the City Council to intervene so that the infant schools of the Conciliation Centers bring their prices closer to the public (25/01/2019)

Spokeswoman Susana Hernandez, who recalls that the PP has not created a single public nursery square for 24 years, will raise a motion on Thursday demanding that the Consistory mediate with the companies that manage buildings that have been assigned to them to lower their rates, which are around 300 euros per month

The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia will demand in the Plenary that will be held on Thursday to look for a formula with the winning companies of the Child Care Centers (CAI) and the Work and Family Life Conciliation Centers of the municipality with the purpose that the prices of their infantile schools approach the maximum to the public prices.

The firm commitment to public education, from the first stage of education, is part of the PSOE, which ensures access to this fundamental right under appropriate conditions and which does not pose an unreasonable inconvenience for the families of children and children. girls in school age, because the fee is around 300 euros per month.

The PSOE has been criticizing the lack of places in public nursery schools for decades because the PP government has opted to promote private education leaving the public in a precarious situation "to the point that it has not created a single of these places in 24 years and this despite the fact that the current mayor, José Ballesta, committed in the electoral campaign to expand this offer, "as the spokesperson of the Socialist Group in the Consistory, Susana Hernandez, who considers" excessive "the prices established in these centers of Conciliation for students from 0 to 3 years who serve in the municipality.

Hernández explains that the situation of the CAI and the Conciliation Centers is different: "The CAI was given the land for its implementation, while the Conciliation Centers are built with funds from the European Union and this contribution of public money is add the facilities that are given because the City pays 50% of the bill of electricity and water and all costs arising from the cleaning of real estate.

Despite these cost savings, "the prices in these schools exceed those fixed in private daycare centers, which is not a receipt and is something that would require the intervention of the City Council," adds the Socialist spokesperson, who gives two examples given in Murcia with regard to Conciliation Centers that had to close their doors.

"The space of the Zarandona, after ceasing to operate, was ceded to the association Astrapace, and the El Palmar, after being closed for a long time, today houses the municipal nursery school of the district by a proposal of the PSOE and in which we insist for two years, "he says.

On the other hand, Hernandez, who asks that the City Council recover spaces that are ceded to private companies to manage them and that dedicates them to create places of public child education, highlights "the obscurantism" that governs the criteria of the City Council because " for years we have been wanting to know how many children come to the centers derived from Social Services in the morning and we do not get a clear answer.
