Muher explains at the UCAM how he will merge art and home automation at the Tomato Museum in China (24/01/2019)

The architect Manuel Herrera, from the team of totanero artists MUHER, has started this afternoon a seminar at the Catholic University in which he tackles the home automation project applied to the Tomato Museum building (Taiyuan, China) for which he has been chosen after competing with several international experts

The UCAM has hosted this Thursday, the presentation of the seminar on the application of home automation control systems in smart buildings promoted by the Muher International Chair ArtQuitectura.

A Chair that seeks to be a reference and a true forum for meeting and training for students and researchers in the field of art and literature.

The first session of this seminar has revolved around the development of the recent home automation project that has been applied to the building -Museum of Tomato- with which MUHER has won an international competition in the Chinese city of Taiyuan.

The entire building and its surroundings have been exclusively designed by the Murcian artist Manuel Herrera (MUHER) and the idea houses 10,000m2 and has a park of 100,000m2.

Outdoor spaces, lakes, parking lots and even bike lanes around the museum are controlled by home automation, these are just some examples of an initiative that seeks to bring visitors from the Asian city to the Tomato Museum.

The MUHER project is characterized by autonomy, energy saving, light theatricality and use of facilities for optimization.

It should be noted that another of the attractions that will feature the space will be a gourmet store on the ground floor, whose products will be totally related to the tomato.

The museum will open its doors to the public in May 2020 where you can learn about the history and diversity of this product in an innovative and curious way.

The variety of colors will be another of the attractions for which MUHER has bet in a careful way for this building and its surroundings.

MUHER has been working with other engineers in the field of home automation since the year 1989.

Eduardo Suller, director of the Master on intelligent architecture that will be taught from February 28 and collaborator of the project of home automation of the museum, also wanted to participate actively in the seminar to clarify the specific technical details that have been applied to the aforementioned building .

At the same time, the contents of the Master's Degree in Intelligent Architecture, scheduled for this quarter, have been officially explained and the registration period has been officially opened.
