Tourism Murcia bet on fitur for the British market (24/01/2019)

Murcia Tourism Convention Bureau participates one more year in the thirty-ninth International Tourism Fair (Fitur) which takes place from 23 to 27 January in Madrid, ready to boost the city's offer in the national and foreign market under the idea of tourism as "a tool at the service of experiences that generate emotional bonds" in the words of the mayor of the city of Murcia, José Ballesta.

To this end, the Murcia Tourism delegation has established an intense contact agenda aimed at informing about new services and infrastructures among the main British tour operators and MICE, among which the opening of the International Airport of the Region of Murcia that connects the Region of Murcia with nine destinations in the United Kingdom since January 15.

Between the meetings they emphasize important tour operators of the United Kingdom like 'Trailfinders' and national agencies of trips specialized in thematic, cultural, urban tourism and centered in the opening of new routes.

With regard to professional tourism actions, Murcia Convention Bureau attends the first edition of Fitur MITM 'Mice & Business', an event of professional meetings and business travel in a 'networking' format, with an agenda formed by more than 30 meetings with specialized agents of the MICE sector of Spain, England, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Russia among others.

All tour operators have shown their interest in the new air connections from the International Airport of the Region of Murcia.

In this edition of Fitur, Murcia has also presented the best data of influx of travelers and overnight stays in its history with 466,885 travelers and 785,000 overnight stays in 2018, which represents a growth of 30.8 in the last three years.

During the first day of Wednesday the new video of tourism promotion 'A Murcia becomes' was presented, which affects the idea of ​​loyalty to visitors visiting the city of Murcia and also the first edition of the magazine 'Murcia' with contents of interest for the visitor and that, with a biannual periodicity, will be distributed in all the hotels of the city in both Spanish and English

In addition to the actions of promotion and marketing of the destination, Murcia participates as a finalist in the first edition of the 'App Tourism Awards 2019' organized by Segittur with the tourist Chatbot developed in 2018 and will receive this Friday the prize for the best destination Sicted in recognition of the quality of the municipality's services as a tourist destination.
