The PSOE criticizes the "waste of public money" that Mayor Ballesta allows in the service of firemen who are "defenseless" (23/01/2019)

The spokesperson of the Municipal Socialist Group, Susana Hernandez, and councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa assure that there is material worth more than 400,000 euros put in unopened boxes in the Infante Park shelves since October 2015 and that the guarantee ended more than a year ago. year

"A couple of months ago we denounced the computer system hired for this Corps and it cost 175,000 euros and it still does not work and now we are reviewing another contract of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) worth more than 400,000 euros, which is also not is fulfilling, the special mobile communication network for emergency servicesTetra ", explained Susana Hernández, who has offered a press conference with Larrosa, in which both have criticized the poor functioning of the SEIS in the municipality.

This is how the socialist spokesperson has begun her intervention before the media in order to give details in her presentation.

The supply of the material for the start-up of Tetra -walkie talkies, stations, tablets and accessories- was delivered in October 2015, but the base firefighters still do not use it due to lack of connection.

The circumstance arises that the guarantee expired in October 2017, which can generate problems in case the equipment does not work.

"The walkies are placed in their boxes and are placed on the shelves of the Parque Infante, we have seen it in one of the two visits we have made in the last week together with the head of the service, with whose members we have reviewed the contract without They will tell us that there were connection problems between the terminals and the server in the room and that they have been solved, but then why does not this program start? "explained Hernández.

In addition, the spokesperson of the PSOE in the City Council has heard from the boss and officers who are in charge of the service that the company has not taught the training plan for firefighters that includes the contract, as well as that they were not aware of whether they had produced updates on the equipment, something also included in the specifications, to name a few examples.

Hernandez has described the management of this contract as "a waste of public money for which Mayor José Ballesta is responsible, who says that there is no money for necessary actions for the municipality and then allows City Council funds to be squandered in this way."

"Two contracts of the SEIS have been seen and the two are violated, so it is a deception to citizens and can not leave of rositas", said the socialist representative, who added that Ballesta "only interested in this service for his Twitter photos "and that what happened is equally the responsibility of the senior officials of the SEIS.

In the same line, Juan Vicente Larrosa has expressed himself.

"The mayor talks a lot about transparency, but those in charge of the service were not even able to show us some parts of work and maintenance of the equipment, so we asked if they have something to hide."

The councilor of the PSOE, who has considered serious that has led to the warranty period being completed without the equipment being used, has indicated that the firefighters are paying the duck for bad planning of their superiors and has put a example.

"In the event of a fire, the agents would not be located by GPS, although this should be insured because this is reflected in the contract signed at the time, leaving them in a clear state of defenselessness when they are playing life for all of us, "he pointed.
