The Municipal Socialist Group has called on several occasions, even with motions approved in the Plenary, the urgent need to have a plan of ditches to protect them and keep them in conditions in order to remain useful and, at the same time, their conservation continue to allow it to be part of our heritage, as "it is a unique and authentic heritage, which belongs to all Murcia and Murcia for a thousand years."
Councilman Enrique Ayuso, accompanied by the mayoress of Nonduermas pedáneo, Carmen Lopez, has visited this morning the channel Barreras in poor condition due to leaks, so he demands a quick action so that the deterioration does not go any further.
The ditch runs parallel to the road of the same name, Barreras, where there are significant cracks, in which they have even grown plants, and that are the cause of the leaks to the point that part of one of the stone walls of the ditch It is falling off.
Likewise, Ayuso and López warn that if the road is not acted on, it will also damage more, which will mean "a risk to the circulation and will make the irrigation ditch even more serious", so "if the City Council complies with the his responsibility we will be avoiding greater evils ".
For all these reasons, the Socialists demand that the government team take action on the matter and reinforce the wall of the Barreras ditch at the bifurcation level with the Almohajar ditch (in Nonduermas) due to the risk of sinking the road.
It also requires that the site known as La Gramansa be rehabilitated, in which the main ditch of Barrera and the smaller one of Almohajar converge, which currently is an abandoned site "when it is a unique space for our traditional irrigation network", points out Ayuso.
