The Prevention and Comprehensive Care Service for Victims of Abuse and / or Sexual Assault (Cavax) premiered today in the center of Murcia to continue caring for the victims of this type of violence against women.
The counselor of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, stressed the importance of having a resource like this, "with specialized personnel that offer attention at first and follow up".
The Cavax, which shares these new facilities with the specialized Center of attention to victims of gender violence (CAVI) in Murcia, has been in operation in the Region of Murcia for more than a year, and during 2018 it assisted 345 women who had claimed to be victims of sexual abuse or aggression.
The owner of Family highlighted the integral attention that is made in this specialized center, since the intervention contemplates all possible cases of aggression, and its purpose is the full recovery of the victim in the short, medium and long term.
"Specialized legal, educational, social and psychological attention is provided so that the victim of this type of abuse can return to his normal life as soon as possible."
The CAVI of Murcia offered assistance to 352 women victims of gender violence during the past year.
Any woman can go to Cavax or to CAVIs whether or not she has reported her situation.
