Let's change Murcia attributes the advances in the San Esteban field to the civic struggle (16/01/2019)

The spokesman of the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, has said that the advance in the excavations of the San Esteban site constitutes a "great joy" that is due to the struggle of many citizens since 2009, the year in which it was discovered during the execution works of an underground car park in that area.

Tornel has made these statements this morning on a visit to the archaeological site with his colleagues from the municipal group, Margarita Guerrero and Sergio Ramos, and other members of the Corporation.

For the mayor of the municipal training, "we would have to make a monument to those people who 10 years ago fought to prevent the construction of a five-story underground car park that would have destroyed this important set from the point of view of research, culture, history and the future of the city. "

"The information that the investigative team has transferred to us during today's visit corroborates the criteria of the citizen movement that defended the archaeological value of the site in front of a PP that underestimated it," he said.

The "conversion" of PP councilors

Tornel has also expressed his "happiness" for the "conversion" experienced by "councilors and councilors of the PP who then supported with their vote the destruction of the suburb, so that common sense has begun to work" and the fact of the public administrations "have finally realized the need to coordinate to put in value this historic symbol of the city."
