The City Council renews its collaboration with Tritones Murcia, the most successful triathlon club in the Region, which last season won 165 medals (12/01/2019)

The City of Murcia was the scene this morning of the presentation of Tritones Murcia Sport Club, the only club in the Region of Murcia federated in triathlon and swimming, whose members are already working to overcome the successes of last season, in which they achieved 70 golds, 57 silvers and 48 bronzes, both in swimming, as in triathlon, aquathlon and duathlon in regional and state competitions.

In total, 165 medals.

During the ceremony, which has had the presence of sponsors, coaches and athletes, the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, reiterated the City Council's willingness to continue collaborating with the club, in which 'two factors coincide. they define it and they turn it into a very singular case, because to its condition of base sport joins an extraordinary trajectory of sporting successes to him '.

By modalities, Tritones Murcia got 47 podiums in the regional triathlon competitions, 25 in duathlon and 11 in aquatlon, as well as 79 podiums in swimming, being the triathlon club of the Region of Murcia more laureate.

In addition, this season has already achieved two first places in athletics by Paula Sánchez García, regional triathlon champion in cadet category, and Nieves Navarro, regional triathlon champion in children's category.

On a national level, the Tritones is Spanish champion in duathlon by relay and bronze by duathlon cadet teams, Spanish triathlon runners-up by teams in the cadet category and by triathlon open relays.

He also has in his palmares a national bronze in aquatlon by teams in cadet category.

In swimming, he counts among his ranks with the current regional champions in the category Benjamín, Sandro Alcaraz and Cinta Nicolás, who are also champions of the Open Water League.

In addition, Sandro Alcaraz has a minimum of 100 meters breaststroke and 400 free, which will allow him to participate in the Spanish swimming championship with podium options, and is the current regional triathlon champion in his category, while Cinta Nicolás was bronze in triathlon last season.

Both swimmers have high chances of achieving other minimums in other styles and fight nationally for being among the best.

In the presentation this Saturday, Tritones Murcia has shown its new equipment with the sponsorship of Terramovil Group and the renewal of its other sponsors, among which is John Deere, the leading company in the agricultural sector;

Seville Flowers Procurators, besides the City council of Murcia.

Tritones Murcia Sport Club also stands out for the inclusion in its internal regulations of the obligation of athletes to prove that their academic results are also remarkable.
