Martínez-Oliva: 'Proposing free transport is a fallacy because it means that we all Murcia pay' (04/01/2019)

The councilor responsible for Urban Mobility calls for 'responsibility and rigor in their proposals' to the socialist candidate and stresses that to say that everything is free 'do not need to have much preparation, just get carried away by demagogy'

'Propose a free public transport is, first of all, a fallacy, because what is free we pay all Murcia, those who get on the bus and those who do not'.

This is how the councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, responded to the socialist candidate, who this morning announced this electoral proposal.

'So far, the only ideas we have known about his future program is the' no-pay 'policy, which is what the PSOE agrees to when it is in opposition, "says Martínez-Oliva, who believes that this loss of the notion of the cost of things must have spread among the Socialists to see that the Presidency of the Government of Spain wants us to believe that the Falcon that moved Pedro Sánchez in concert cost the Spaniards € 283.

With this measure I understand that the urban bus seems like a bargain to the Murcia candidate.

The holder of Urban Mobility demands to the PSOE 'responsibility and rigor', at the time that remembers that 'to say that everything is free it is not necessary to have much preparation, only to let itself take by the demagoguery'.

Martínez-Oliva stressed that "precisely the day chosen by the socialist candidate to make this proposal we have known the report of the Observatory of Urban Services that highlights the preferential attention given by the Government of Ballesta to public transport.

In this sense, the barometer indicates that spending continued to grow to a record 44.59 euros per inhabitant in 2018, 4.26% more than the previous year and quadrupling the national average.

It also draws attention to the important resources allocated to 'expand the connections of the districts with Murcia, although they are routes of regional ownership, integrating better their neighbors in the city.

Finally, the popular councilor explained that 'Murcia are the ones who support our actions in this area and this is appreciated by only observing the increase in users that has been registered in recent months.
