More than 500 children participate in the municipal conciliation centers this Christmas (03/01/2019)

The conciliation centers of work and family life of the City Council offer fun and learning also at Christmas.

500 minors, from 0 to 16 years old, participate in the four centers of Juan Carlos I, Tocinos Bridge, Artillery Barracks and Cabezo de Torres.

These centers carry out recreational and socio-educational activities involving children whose parents have to complete their workday, which prevents them from being able to assist them during the months when there is no school.

"In this way we can offer a public resource for these families, while guaranteeing that children are perfectly cared for and enjoying their free time while having fun with other children", explains the Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation , Conchita Ruiz, who this morning visited the Integral Center for Childhood and Conciliation of Juan Carlos I.

To this end, summer schools are also organized outside the school year, covering the entire months of July and August, as well as the last non-school days of June and the first days of September prior to the start of school.

The schools are aimed at children from 3 to 12/16 years, in the morning, from 8.00 to 14.30 hours or in the afternoon, from 15.30 to 20.30, from Monday to Friday (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) ), while children from 0 to 3 years old, continue in their normal schedule of the rest of the course (from 8.00 to 20.00 hours), although they can also opt for occasional adaptations to family needs.

During this time, children participate in very diverse activities, from support classes and school reinforcement to workshops of various crafts or sports.

Two types of centers

The City Council has eight conciliation centers, of which, in four, it is the contractor that builds the building and manages the service.

This is the case of the equipment 'Concilia Educa', from Churra, 'El Azahar', from La Ñora, 'Los Granaos', from El Bojal, and 'EMPI', from Ronda Sur.

Along with these are the other four, in which the City Council owns the land and the property and cedes the management of the service through public competition.

This is how the Integral Childhood Center, the Artillery Barracks, Tocinos Bridge and Cabezo de Torres work.

The area of Childhood and Adolescence carries out activities in 30 Schools of Christmas of the municipality

They have also been held during the days 26, 27 and 28 December at Ceip San Andrés and Ceip City of Murcia in El Carmen.

In addition, in different COUNTRIES (Projects of activities with children) of the municipal centers of social services in the north and south areas, some extraordinary activities have been carried out.

From the Cyber-Classrooms, Christmas Schools have been developed in the areas of Los Dolores, Espinardo and San Pío X, as well as in project 13-17.
