For the fifth consecutive year, in 2019, the same prices will be maintained.
The taxi service of the Corvera airport will be guaranteed at all times and the City Council will approve a flat rate for the journeys, both on and off.
These are two agreements adopted by the Taxi Sector Board in the meeting held today, convened by the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, which has been attended by three organizations in the sector: Radiotaxi, Union Taxi and Eurotaxi .
Among the issues addressed is the organization of the service that will be provided at the airport, where the taxi drivers of the municipality will have exclusivity, as happens in other cities.
The proposal is to establish a flat rate for travel to and from Corvera, taking into account the dispersion of the municipality, and that the price that is established is lower than the current cost to the district.
In addition, the permanence of between 15 and 20 vehicles will always be guaranteed to cover the possible demand of customers.
In any case, these shifts will be revised to adapt it to the real needs when this service begins with the opening of the airport.
Both the flat rate and the shifts will be analyzed by the general assembly that will hold the sector on the 14th and then submitted to the City Council for approval.
In today's meeting, it has also been decided to maintain the same rates in 2019, so that they will add up to five years without any increase.
On the other hand, the Department of Finance, Recruitment and Urban Mobility will have a game of 100,000 euros in aid to encourage the implementation of electric taxis, in addition to attending the installation of charging points at any stop.
On the other hand, Martinez-Oliva explained that the City will address two proposals raised by taxi drivers: on the one hand, the possibility of installing in their vehicles the mobile application similar to the one that exists of 'safe trade', which allows a connection Direct with Local Police, and, on the other hand, have requested that the administration of basic English courses be facilitated by the administration to promote a better service to tourists.
They are also interested in attending safety courses run by Local Police.
