PURINA and the CTAC dogs arrive in Murcia with the program "Learning Together is Better" (31/10/2018)

The action is part of the "Learning Together Is Better" program that PURINA, in collaboration with CTAC, launched in 2015 and has already visited nearly 70 schools in Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, Andalusia, the Basque Country, the Islands Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, Aragon and Galicia.

PURINA, with the collaboration of the Center for Assisted Therapies with Dogs (CTAC), will visit Murcia with "Learning Together Is Better", the first national program that is taking assisted education dogs to schools to show the benefits of pets in education children.

"Learn Together is Better" was born in 2015, is an initiative of PURINA and is directed by CTAC.

To date he has already visited nearly 70 schools in the Community of Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia, the Basque Country, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, Aragon and Galicia.

Before the end of this year 2018, the program expects to reach 5,000 children.

On November 5, during the morning, the CTAC team will be at CEIP Barriomar 74 and, with the help of trained dogs, will carry out an assisted education day with a group of elementary students and their teachers.

The emotional bond that is established between children and dogs, treated as a curricular tool, enriches the learning process of the students.

At a general level, assisted education dogs, with the help of specialized technicians and coordinated with teachers / educators, constitute a powerful external motor that contributes to the formation of children in several facets: it increases motivation, it identifies problems of socialization, encourages reading habits, decreases anxiety, stimulates their attention and concentration, and increases their self-esteem and confidence.

At a specific level, these dogs can work on the most interesting training aspects for each school: reinforce the reading and writing programs, as well as treat certain disorders that hinder the learning of some students.

For this reason, PURINA, together with CTAC, has created a program that aims to introduce the dogs of assisted education continuously in schools and at the same time show the benefits of pets in the education of children
