Now Murcia shows its indignation that Melendi's concert forces the Conservatory to suspend its classes (26/10/2018)

"It is very serious that this point has been reached, after two years of constant complaints from Ahora Murcia, users of the different facilities located in the barracks, and neighbors, about the serious inconvenience caused by the celebration of macroevents in the central courtyard of this building, in addition to the danger involved in the assembly and disassembly of the stages "

The past month of September Now Murcia requested in writing information to the councilman of Culture, Jesus Pacheco, on the concerts that were predicted for September and October;

has not received a response

NOW MURCIA shows his indignation that the concert of Melendi, which takes place this evening in the courtyard of the Artillery Barracks, has forced the Conservatory of Music of Murcia to suspend all its activities from 15.30 "because it can not guarantee neither the access nor the security of the users ", as they have informed the families and in their own web.

The councilor Alicia Morales states that "it is very serious that this point has been reached, after two years of constant complaints from Ahora Murcia, of users of the different facilities located in the barracks, and of neighbors, about the serious inconvenience that cause the celebration of macroevents in the central courtyard of this building, in addition to the danger involved in the assembly and disassembly of the stages. "

Morales criticizes that "the Popular Party prioritizes the events organized by private promoters well above the good functioning of the numerous spaces located in the different pavilions of the Barracks: in addition to the Conservatory, a nursery, the library, the aquarium of the UMU ...".

"From Now Murcia we do not stop denouncing," he says, "that the courtyard of the Artillery Barracks is not the right place for macroevents, is not prepared for them, and causes discomfort for days with the assembly and dismantling of the huge stages; trials, camping during days of youth and the accumulation of garbage that the City takes up to two days to collect. "

The councilor notes that, in addition, "the transfer of large trucks and the elements of the stage during assembly pose a danger, as certified by a report of the Ministry of Education in July 2016. And to all that we must add that recently it has had to fence, preventing its use, the playground located in the barracks because some of the people who camp for the concerts do their physiological needs there. "

In line with the monitoring that Now Murcia has been doing this problem for two years, last September requested information in writing to the Councilor for Culture, Jesus Pacheco, about the concerts that were scheduled for September and October: "We request a copy of the authorization decrees for those concerts and a copy of the self-protection plans presented, as well as a copy of other possible municipal reports submitted or

collected in relation to these events. "" Requests for information, "says the councilor of Ahora Murcia," of which we have not received any response. "

Morales regrets "that Ballesta and Pacheco bet on the macroevents and private initiatives instead of promoting the basic culture and education, as can be seen with the serious damage caused to the Conservatory of Music, and that have culminated with this cancellation of their classes".
