Navarro: 'The municipal services are involved in the elimination of illegal dumps' (24/10/2018)

The councilman of Urbanism, Environment, Water and Kitchen garden indicates that the new budgets include for the first time a specific heading for the case of dangerous waste, whose cleaning is outside the ordinary contract of the lots that present accumulation of debris and appliances.

The City Council works from different services to eradicate the appearance of illegal spills in the municipality, although the procedure varies according to the type of focus that is treated.

Thus, when detected on public land, the urban cleaning service acts immediately, while if the site is privately owned, the inspector raises a part of the infraction and communicates to its owners the obligation to eliminate the source of dirt, since the people in charge are the owners.

In the case of hazardous waste, such as asbestos, it is different, since it does not fall under the ordinary contract that Urbanism has for the cleaning of lots that show accumulation of debris and furnishings.

Therefore, the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, Antonio Navarro, explained that the new budgets include for the first time a specific heading to address these cases.

On the other hand, the City Council combats the formation of illegal dumps through the control of construction waste, through the bonds that are required in all building permits.

Regarding the one denounced by Now Murcia, Navarro assures that, as in all the cases that are known, 'the procedure is launched and will be solved shortly'.
