Navarro insists that the crossing of the Cuatro Piedras will continue to be open to traffic after the approval of the Malecón's special plan (24/10/2018)

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, Antonio Navarro, has held this morning meetings related to the processing of the Special Plan for Landscape and Monumental Protection of the Malecon, whose purpose is to ensure the conservation of a space of high environmental interest, monumental, cultural and historical, and the safeguarding of the agricultural environment that surrounds it.

And it will be done at all times with the consensus of the neighbors, as has been done since the initial approval of the project.

This was done in the participation process that was opened in the spring of last year, when it passed the initial approval.

Since then there have been many meetings with municipal boards and residents of the area.

This morning there was a meeting with the representatives of the school AYS, and has attended, along with Antonio Navarro, the Councilor for Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gomez.

The interview has served to advance points of agreement and reaffirm the commitment to continue working to reach consensus before its final application.

In this sense, Navarro has insisted again that the final approval of this plan will not mean the closure of the Crossing of the Four Stones.

"The traffic on the Malecón will not be cut without the consensus with the neighbors," he stressed.

An aspect that has also affected the council at the second meeting, held with the Municipal Board of La Arboleja.

On the other hand, the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden has recalled in the meeting that the Special Plan for Landscape and Monumental Protection of the Malecón authorizes the maintenance of all existing homes and safeguards the agricultural use of the plots without building and , regarding the distorting elements, the special plan foresees submitting to measures of environmental integration, setback and adaptation.

All this corresponds to 'the identity significance that this space has for all Murcia and the characteristics it presents from the environmental, landscape and monumental point of view, which makes it a unique and special enclave in the city, "Navarro concluded. .
