The official trip will begin at the Normal University of Hunan, which celebrates its 80th anniversary and has invited Luján to give a speech at the opening ceremony of this celebration.

The University of Murcia is one of the best international partners of this university and both institutions have a long tradition of cooperation.

In this visit we will advance in actions that promote the mobility of students and teachers, as well as exchanges of Spanish readers.

In total, the delegation of the University of Murcia will visit up to ten universities in Shanghai, Jian and Beijing with which relations are maintained and signature of specific agreements will be carried out.

One of them will involve the establishment of collaborations between laboratories in the area of Biology with the Shandong Technological University.

Special attention is paid to the visit to the Communication University of China in Beijing, where the aim is to establish the 'Aula Universidad de Murcia' for the debate and implementation of cooperation actions between both institutions.

This university is the first with which the UMU established links in 2002 and with which there are ongoing teacher exchanges, joint projects and sending students in the area of Communication that have been channeled from the area of International Relations.

In this field it is intended to establish new links with the University of Foreign Studies in Beijing and with the Beijing Film Academy, the largest university specialized in film and television in Asia based on contacts made by professors of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation.

In short, all the meetings aim to advance relations in areas such as Economy, Sports, Law, Communication and Biology, among others.

During the trip, meetings will also be held with Spanish educational authorities in Beijing, among them, with the Minister of Education of the Spanish Embassy.

The relationship of the University of Murcia with Chinese universities dates back to 2002 and since then the institution has made several trips to the Asian country in the framework of collaborative projects.

In 2007, as rector José Antonio Cobacho, a meeting of Spanish rectors took place in China and, together with the Spanish Ministry of Education, a collaboration agreement was signed for the recognition of Chinese selectivity in Spain.

Every year the University of Murcia receives students from the Communication University of China who attend a personalized training in the area of International Relations and enroll in subjects of the Faculties of Arts and Communication and Documentation.

In short, this trip, which will run until November 3, aims to advance and systematize all these academic and research relationships.
