The University of Murcia has held on Thursday the official presentation ceremony of the chairs of the Fuertes Group: Chair Strong Group of Business Excellence and Chair Strong Group of Food Safety and Sustainability;
an act that has had the presence of the rector, José Luján;
the counselor for Employment, Universities, Business and the Environment, Javier Celdrán;
and the president of Grupo Fuertes, Tomás Fuertes.
Alicia Rubio, vice-chancellor of Employment, Business and Society, highlighted the importance of these chairs as an example of "business and university come together to establish synergies, we need to establish ties that help our researchers to step on land and also to companies to take advantage of all the knowledge that is generated in the University ".
Chairs will have research, training and research transfer work.
Specifically, the chair of Food Safety and Sustainability aims to innovation, training and dissemination in the field of veterinary and food sciences.
Among its activities are the provision of scholarships in favor of students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the performance of university internships and the promotion of research contracts.
For its part, the chair of Business Excellence will facilitate the incorporation into the world of work of the best students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the promotion of practices in companies of the Fuertes Group and participation in international development programs for the pursuit of excellence business
The chairs have an initial duration of four years extendable.
Rector Luján has expressed the "enormous satisfaction" for the University of Murcia is the implementation of these chairs.
Luján has explained that "the fundamental idea is that the company is in the University and the University knows how to offer knowledge to the company, that it is carried out by the Fuertes Group that bears the name of the Region all over the world is enormously important".
The rector thanked the Strong Group for its involvement with these projects that will have as a consequence the improvement of the activity carried out by the University.
The Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, Javier Celdrán, has highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration for the creation of knowledge.
Celdrán wanted to congratulate both the University and the Strong Group for the initiative.
Tomás Fuertes, president of the Fuertes Group, for his part, stressed the importance "of being close to knowledge, which is the University, in order to continue developing", both in the veterinary field and in the business activity.
Fuertes has ensured that the chairs are "a great idea for the development of high competitiveness in a globalized business environment, something that is good, not only for economic development, but also for social development through the creation of jobs" .
