Citizens will demand in the Plenary an immediate adaptation of the Barqueros road for its reopening to traffic (17/10/2018)

The spokesman of Cs, Mario Gómez, will present a motion in the Plenary of this month urging the local government to initiate the necessary procedures so that the regional government is committed to execute the works of improvement of the RM-C1 highway for its imminent reopening to the traffic.

In this sense, Gómez recalled that five months ago that the road linking Barqueros with Fuente Librilla was closed to traffic because it presents a sorry state between kilometer points 3.8 and 5.6 (images are attached).

In his opinion, "this closure is not only damaging the inhabitants of the Murcian hamlet of Barqueros, but the neighbors of Fuente Librilla and the hundreds of workers who use it daily."

"We must not forget, said Gomez," that the RM-C1 is also the main access route for the future Mula photovoltaic plant and that in August 2013 it was already undergoing refurbishment works worth more than 2, 5 million euros (widening of the road from 6 to 10 meters, widening the radius of the curves, replacement of the road surface, new vertical and horizontal signs and beacons ".

"It is inadmissible that no one in the PP assumes the political responsibility for a work done in terrible conditions if we take into account the state that presents today, five years after these improvements," he has denounced.

To conclude, the Cs spokesman has assured that "from Cs we understand that more than enough time has passed for the new repair work on this road to begin so that it can be opened to traffic as soon as possible".
