Murcia change has expressed at the extraordinary plenary of the City Council held today its rejection of municipal budgets agreed by the municipal groups of PP and Citizens for this year, to consider them "fictitious and unsupportive" and be far from meeting the needs of citizenship.
The councilor of the municipal training Sergio Ramos has ensured that the accounts are "unreal" because they are approved a few months after the end of the year, although the legislation requires that they begin to be effective from January.
"The Consistory is more than ten months late," he said in this regard.
This delay will have as a consequence, as Ramos said in statements to the media, that the investments planned in the municipality by the end of the year "will not be able to be carried out" because there is not enough time to do the necessary procedures to hiring.
"Last year, when the budgets were approved in July, only 30 percent of the investments were executed, and this year, with many fewer months ahead, practically none of them will be executed," he added.
He also criticized that a third of the budget is devoted to the outsourcing of municipal services, a formula that in many cases "only serves to precarize the quality" of the same and promote poor working conditions among workers.
As an example, he mentioned "the numerous complaints of dirt in the streets" despite the fact that CESPA, the concessionaire of street cleaning, receives 50 million euros a year from the City Council.
To this, the mayor has added that PP and Citizens approved the budget in the middle of August and without allowing the collaboration and contributions of the residents of Murcia, or associations and groups.
