Hemodonation in the Campus of Los Jerónimos

With this commitment to disclosure in the field of health, the UCAM joins the other activities planned for the Day of Healthy Universities, which takes place on Thursday, October 4, promoted by the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities (REUS) , which is part of the University, and whose goal is to promote the consumption of fruit and a healthy diet in the educational environment.

Thus, the UCAM hosts a blood collection campaign tomorrow, which will be carried out by the Regional Blood Donation Center on the first floor of the Monastery of the Campus of Los Jerónimos, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and which is part of the # Reto5mil.

Through this action, the REUS aims to reach 5,000 blood donations among all participating universities and collaborate in this way with the blood banks of hospitals.

The university that receives more hemodonations will be awarded by the REUS with a diploma that certifies their collaboration in the Day of Healthy Universities.

In addition, the UCAM will also participate in the Second Edition of the Contest "The challenge of fruit".

For this activity, the universities provide fruit to their students, who will have to take a photo consuming a piece and upload it to their personal twitter mentioning the account of the UCAM and that of the REUS together with the hashtag #IIRetoFrutaREUS.

"What we intend is to promote the consumption of fruit in the population", explained Carmen Lucas, coordinator of the REUS at the UCAM.

In this way, participants enter the draw for a folding bike that provides the REUS.
