Guadalupe's Liberty Avenue will have a new sidewalk on its left bank (29/09/2018)

The City Council will develop a project to pave sidewalks on Avenida Libertad, on the left bank, in the direction of the cemetery in Guadalupe.

Liberty Avenue that connects the urban core of Guadalupe with the cemetery, is a two-way street that from the avenue Region of Murcia lacks sidewalks.

For this reason, it is going to pave a sidewalk on its left margin towards the cemetery, thus achieving a safer pedestrian circulation, including pedestrian crossings at all junctions, regularizing traffic lights and existing signage.

The works will consist of the extension of the road on the right bank, demolishing the existing agglomerate, cleaning it with artificial gravel and extending two layers of asphalt agglomerate all over the surface of action.

The sidewalk will not be done at the expense of reducing the dimensions of the shoulder or the current lanes of the road.

Then on the left bank, the sidewalk will be executed with a curb of prefabricated concrete curbstone to delimit the sidewalk of the roadway and then the pavement will be made of the sidewalk formed by a concrete base in mass, placing the paving of prefabricated cobblestone.

In sections of the existing ditch that is projected sidewalk above, a concrete pipe will be placed and the existing tanks will be replaced, improving the rainwater network.

The existing traffic lights are also modified, since four new pedestrian crossings are executed, crossing the tram, Costera Norte and the existing service roads.

The works will be developed by Technological Water Solutions with an investment of 48,865 and within a period of 3 months.
