The City of Murcia has been present at the seminar 'National Smart Cities Plan: Progress and Challenges', in Madrid, in which representatives of various Spanish municipalities have known the project of Ciudad Inteligente de Murcia.

This event, organized by the Socinfo Foundation and with the collaboration of the Ministry of Economy and Business, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, SEGITTUR, as well as the municipalities of Madrid, Donostia - San Sebastián, Alcobendas, Collado Villalba and Murcia.

"From the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development we have offered information of all the actions that we are carrying out in our municipality Once again, Murcia is positioned as a national reference on smart cities" has highlighted José Guillén.

Thus, the smart city project framed in the global strategy of the City of Murcia has been announced and presented to the Red.es call, achieving an investment of 8 million euros, the most important nationally.

The project 'MiMurcia: Your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council', beneficiary of the 'II Call for Smart Cities' of the Digital Agenda for Spain seeks to generate new opportunities for economic development, while improving the quality of life of Murcia and the public services they receive.

The aim of the 'MiMurcia' initiative is to develop a platform to bring the City Council closer to the public, by personalizing the citizen's information according to its context, location and time.

The vision of this project has the premise: 'A person: a town hall', it is intended to achieve a personal, differentiated and unique relationship with each citizen.

The City Council communicates, resolves, is open and sustainable.

It is based on three main lines of action.

The first raises the creation of a single monitoring center, which will integrate solutions such as a single Proactive Monitoring Center (CEUS) and a Smart City platform.

This unique center is the point of interaction with the citizen to form or inform, it is also a point of demonstration and citizen support and the intelligence center of the city, coordinating the actions and areas of the City Council.

The second axis, called 'Vivir Murcia', includes actions on mobility and urban quality.

Among them, the improvement of intermodality of public transport, the reduction of parking time in the city, intelligent parking and parking for reduced mobility and intelligent pedestrian crossings.

Also efficient lighting in the center, noise map of the city, intelligent selective waste collection, promotion of trade in the center and profiling of users and tourists.

In third place is 'Enjoy Murcia', which includes actions focused on the parks and gardens of the city: irrigation automation systems, efficient lighting, surveillance and security, improvement of the municipal wireless network and monitoring of environmental conditions.

In addition, Murcia this week received about fifty representatives of technology companies interested in the smart city project, who toured the streets, gardens and spaces of the city where the more than 300 intelligent systems and technological components of the MiMurcia project will be implemented. '

The Murcia City Council has also carried out the first electronic Contracting Table and has modernized and contracted the provision of the communications service, multiservice data network, mobile telephony, fixed telephony and voice system.

It is one of the most important contracts that the City of Murcia has made worth almost 8 million euros for four years.

This allows broadband to reach all the municipal centers of districts, about 165, and the Wi-Fi service is being implemented in all the headquarters of districts, sports halls or supply plazas.

"All these advances that we have made and are making are part of our effort to modernize the administration and make the smart city project a reality, we are taking the right steps to ensure that the information that reaches the citizen is transparent, useful and We work to ensure that each citizen can design their own local administration through new technologies "José Guillén remarked.

Regarding citizen participation, the TuMurcia application has been implemented.

A portal where citizens can express their opinion through surveys, make suggestions or expose their ideas.

The second version of the TuMurcia App based on artificial intelligence has also been developed, which will be the first application for mobile devices with artificial intelligence for the attention and participation of citizens in a town hall.

Throughout the morning there have been 10 presentations, each lasting 20 minutes, attended by more than 50 people.

The topics that have been discussed have been on the development of the National Smart Cities Plan, smart tourism, Smart Cities: sustainable technology adapted to management, challenges from local entities, cooperation between smart city councils and buildings as internal objects of the city.
