The Governing Board has approved subsidies to the Social Centers for the Elderly of the urban area and the Los Almendros socio-cultural Association so that they can continue to develop their activities.
Thus, the Social Centers for the elderly in the urban area will receive help close to 60,000 euros to carry out its annual programming, ensuring the proper functioning of the twelve centers in the urban area of ​​Murcia, which bring together more than 6,000 people with one age over 60 years.
Among the activities that will be carried out are the formative-cultural, recreational, leisure, sports, coexistence ...
The Social Centers of the most benefited are those of La Fama, La Flota, La Paz, San Andrés, San Antolín, San Antón, San Basilio, San Juan-Santa Eulalia- San Lorenzo - University, Vistabella, Vistalegre, San Miguel and El Ranero .
On the other hand, the agreement with the Los Almendros Sociocultural Promotion Association, for which the City Council will provide a subsidy of € 25,000, has the purpose of developing a series of activities aimed at the entire population of the neighborhood, making special impact with the most vulnerable sectors, such as children, adolescents-youth and women.
Specifically, these projects are:
- Playroom, Animation and Free Time.
Directed to 25 children from 5 to 12 years old.
- Children's Week.
Directed to all minors in the neighborhood aged between 3 and 16 years.
80 participants.
- Women's Week
Activities directed to the women of the neighborhood, with 50 participants.
- Cultural week.
Cultural activities aimed at the entire population, in general, the Neighborhood and the surroundings.
200 participants.
- Summer school.
Activity organized as a continuity to the toy library and directed to 25 children between 5 and 12 years old.
- Excursions.
Departures that take place throughout the year and include cultural and leisure activities and free time, aimed at 30 children and 40 adults in the neighborhood.
- Integral Training for Women.
Training activities for 25 women in the neighborhood that are developed throughout the year.
- Social work.
Intervention with the entire population, providing information on resources and referring to standardized services.
- Christmas parties.
Activities are carried out aimed at the entire population of the neighborhood, with special emphasis on children.
- Kings Parade.
Activity carried out the Night of Kings with a cavalcade.
- Relationship with the administration and other groups.
- Volunteering
Training activities, coordination and coexistence with 20 volunteers who collaborate and participate in the activities.
